Evaluating the Rate-determining Steps of Oxygen Permeation in Ba<sub>0.5</sub>La<sub>0.5</sub>FeO<sub>3−</sub><i><sub>δ</sub></i> Perovskite

Perovskite oxides obtained from Ba1−xLaxFeO3−δ (BLF) are considered beneficial materials for electrodes of solid oxide fuel cells and oxygen permeation membranes because their high permeability, which is a criterion ion (O2−)-electronic mixed conductivity. In this paper, the prime focus was to understand mechanism through surface exchange bulk diffusion Ba0.5La0.5FeO3−δ (BLF55) sample. The permeated flux displayed higher than that typical conductor La0.6Sr0.4Co0.2Fe0.8O3−δ (LSCF), explored simultaneously with corresponding chemical potentials employing an especial experimental setup. This study found reaction on oxygen-lean side rate-determining step (RDS) below 800 °C, resulting lower hole concentration surface. Enhancing charge transfer by increasing important strategy improve reaction.
